As a Marriage & Family Therapist and Relationship and Communication Specialist, I am extremely passionate about helping clients improve their relationships.
The most important thing I do in my work with couples is to help establish emotional safety by immediately improving communication skills and identifying not only the problem areas in your relationship but also your strengths so that we can start building upon them right away.
Emotional safety means that we can be who we are with loved ones (we feel accepted) and that we feel secure about our relationships (we have trust and commitment).
Once emotional safety is in place, I continue to coach you on improving your communication skills, so you can reduce misunderstandings, understand each other’s needs better, and speak and listen more effectively.
Therapy sessions are a safe place where you can explore your relationship concerns, reduce conflict, and increase your intimacy, understanding, and connection.
I am currently offering the e-Book “What You Are REALLY Arguing About“ for purchase, which features the Relationship Assessment Form that I use in every first session with a new couple to identify the positive and negative behaviors present in the relationship, to clarify the wants and needs of each partner, and to highlight the goals that we are working toward.
My previous clients have been very enthusiastic about how quickly and easily I am able to identify their core relationship struggles in a first session and that I am able to give them tangible, but also simple things to go home and try from the first session and beyond.
